International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action

On eight Decenber 2005, the overall Assembly declared that four April of every year shall be determined because the International Day for Mine Awareness and help in Mine Action.
It concerned continued efforts by States, with the help of the international organization and relevant organizations, to foster the institution and development of national mine-action capacities in countries wherever mines and explosive remnants of war represent a heavy threat to the security, health and lives of the civilian population, or associate degree impediment to social and economic development at the national and native levels.
